There have been one or two yurts in our area (D&G) over the years but I think mostly built below the planning radar. Someone in our village has or had one at the back of their B&B accomodation. I will ask her about it when I see her. Questions often pop up about "moveable" structure like yurts and shepherds hts. I wonder if there is anything in the Rural Planning Handbook for low impact developers
I've not got a copy myself but it's supposed to be very useful.

Have you seen this one? Wooden yurt built in 2 pieces, transported and rejoined on site so it qualified as caravan for planning purposes. Good luck with your application, I hope you'll keep us posted here. (I have no connections whatsoever to the website or designer, I found it while doing my own research.)
